Mostly cloudy skies and winds that started E at a code 2, then shifted to SW at 3 where they stayed for the rest of the count.

Only 24 count hours left in the season!

  1. I was recently told that RTLOs molt further north in the east than in the west and is the reason I have rarely seen birds retaining alternate body feathers in the Great Lakes. RTLOs out here at first threw me for a loop, because I am not used to seeing alternate plumaged birds off the breading grounds.

    With that said, this must be an adult bird. But perhaps you know something I do not...
