11/12/12

The forecast had been for WNW winds, however when I climbed the dune the wind was a code 5 WSW. But for some reason the ducks didn't mind and today had the biggest flight of the month.

39 TUSW
3 WODU
45 GADW
28 AMWI
124 MALL
17 NOPI
20 NSHO
31 GWTE
52 REDH
2 GRSC
40 LESC
583 Scaup sp.
5 WWSC
3 BLSC (the lone female still present from Saturday was joined by two more females)
430 BUFF (huge record flight, the average fall count is ~240. Its likely that some of these went past WPBO a couple days ago)
2 HOME
60 RBME
1 RUDU
1 RTLO
10 COLO
5 HOGR
1 AMCO
1 POJA (a int. first or second year type came screaming inland chasing down a gull, it then headed offshore angling south. It was close enough for good scope looks, but not really close enough for the 300/1.4 extender)
37 BOGU

average sized flock of BUFF for the day

lets see how fast the committee rejects this..
