Clouds to clear skies, and SW winds that peaked at a 3 lead to another lovely day at the University, add in Visitors weekend and it was a busy day for people (not birds) on the pier!
The only thing of note was the first Jaegers in nearly two weeks, all passed by in the second and third hours going N.
2 GADW
7 AMWI
11 NOPI
1 NSHV
3 SUSC
3 DCCO
5 SAND
1 LTJA (int. juvie, we almost missed it as we didn't notice it til it was directly N of the pier, going away from us. It likely jumped the pier behind us. Record shot below. I think this scores 10 points for 50 days of rare!)
1 PAJA (adult LM chasing gulls well offshore in the second hour)
1 Jaeger sp. (int. juvie going north, waaaaaaaay out there)
1 CATE
1 COTE
Ha! The committee cant reject this one!
Lil Jon the RBGU caught this WTSP about 4ft from the pier, then enjoyed his breakfast in front of me.
