9/11/13

Mostly Clear skies, Southerly winds and hot temperatures (mid 90's in the parking lot!) led to a interesting day at Tiscornia.

16 CANG
6 AMWI
20 NOPI
37 NSHO
30 GWTE
318 BWTE (biggest flight of the season!)
2 DCCO
1 SEPL
5 AMAV (2 showed up on the beach in the first hour, and while I was shooting them a adult PEFA came in and took a couple passes at them and the gull flock! To avoid the PEFA the AMAV flew offshore and landed in the midest of the gulls and floated there until the falcon headed south. In the 4th hour 3 AMAV showed up a mile up the beach, both the 3 and the 2 ended up being present through the end of the count)
11 SAND
1 SESA
2 PAJA (a light morph juvie in the 2nd hour, and 3rd year type? in the 8th hour that came in hot off the lake and chased a HEGU over the south pier! Unfortantly the lighting sucked for pics, but it was still pretty sweet!)
5 FOTE
111 COTE
10 BLTE
1 LETE (a juvenile that came in off the lake ~600m to the north of the pier in the 4th hour. It fed in the river outflow for ~5 minutes before it worked its way north and out of sight. 4th county and second Tiscornia record.)
