11/4/13

Cloudy skies and more E winds (up to 13), temps hit 15.

None of this led to anything

11 TUSW
3 CANG
3 GADW
6 AMWI
6 MALL
1 NOPI
23 REDH
1 GRSC
3 LESC
18 Scaup
10 WWSC
63 RBME
2 RTLO
26 COLO
3 HOGR
1 DCCO
2 DUNL
59 BOGU

With the east winds we were standing up on the dune in the hopes that maybe anything of interest would fly by. While rapidly loosing interest in the lack of waterbirds Warren Whaley pointed out a raptor nearly on top of us, I lifted my bins expecting it to be the local juvie RTHA. Imagine my surprise when (the bird was so close I could only get its head and chest in the bins) it was in fact a juvie NOGO! I believe this is only the second record for Tiscornia, and the first since 2011.
